MODULE 6

🎀 Persuasion in Presentations

Transform Boring Slides into Winning Performances

🎯 The Presentation Framework That Never Fails

The HOOK-STORY-SOLUTION-ACTION Formula:

1. HOOK (First 60 seconds)

Start with a question, shocking fact, or story that grabs attention immediately. Never start with "Good morning, my name is..."

Examples:

β€’ "What if I told you we're losing β‚Ή50 lakhs every month and don't know it?"

β€’ "Show of hands - who enjoys our current process?" (crickets)

β€’ "Last Tuesday, our biggest client almost left us. Here's why..."

2. STORY (The Problem)

Paint a vivid picture of the current problem. Make them feel the pain. Use specific examples and emotions.

Template: "Currently, our team spends X hours doing Y, which causes Z problem. Just last week, [specific incident happened], costing us [specific consequence]."

3. SOLUTION (Your Proposal)

Present your idea as the hero that solves the problem. Show how it addresses every pain point you mentioned. Use visuals, demos, and proof.

4. ACTION (Clear Next Steps)

End with a specific call to action. What do you want them to do? When? How? Make it crystal clear and easy.

Example: "I need approval today to start pilot testing next Monday with 10 volunteers. Can I count on your support?"

πŸ’Ό Before & After Presentation Example:

BEFORE (Boring):

"Hello, I'm going to present about improving our customer service. [Shows 20 slides with data] Thank you."

AFTER (Persuasive):

HOOK: "Yesterday, a customer waited 3 days for help and posted an angry review that got 50,000 views."

STORY: "This isn't isolated. We're averaging 48-hour response times. Competitors respond in 4 hours. We're losing customers daily."

SOLUTION: "Here's a 5-point plan to cut response time to 4 hours. [Shows clear roadmap]"

ACTION: "I need approval today. Implementation starts Monday. Who's with me?"

πŸ“Š Slide Design Principles

βœ“ One message per slide

βœ“ Use images over text (a picture = 1000 words)

βœ“ Big fonts (minimum 24pt)

βœ“ Contrast colors (dark on light or light on dark)

βœ“ Tell stories with data - don't just show numbers

❌ Avoid cluttered slides with paragraphs of text!
