Case Study:1 The Girl & the Sailor

Title: “The Girl, the Old Man, and the Sailor”

(A story that echoes the tragedy of Titanic…)

🌞 It was a bright sunny day…
Five people set out for a casual afternoon trip in a small boat—

👧 A young girl,
💍 Her lover and fiancé,
👬 The fiancé’s best friend,
🧓 A wise old man,
⛵ And a mysterious sailor.

Suddenly…
⚡ The sky turned dark!
🌪️ A massive storm struck.
The boat started rocking dangerously…
🌊 And eventually… it sank.

❗Miraculously, all five survived.
They split into two small lifeboats:

Boat One:
👧 The girl, 🧓 the old man, and ⛵ the sailor.

🚣 Boat Two:
💍 The fiancé and 👬 his best friend.

The two boats drifted apart…
One reached an isolated island. The other landed on a nearby island.
Both islands were visible to each other, but separated by deep, dangerous waters. 🌊

🏝️ The Girl’s Island —

Each day, the girl sat silently by the shore,
her eyes fixed on the distant island…
where she believed—or at least hoped—her beloved fiancé still waited for her. 🌊💔

But there was a problem—
⛵ The lifeboat was broken.
Without repairs, there was no way to reach her lover.

Desperate, she ran to the sailor—
🗣️ “Please, fix the boat! I must go to my fiancé!”

⛵ The sailor calmly replied:
“I will fix it… but only on one condition.
You must spend one night with me.”

😨 The girl turned pale!
She screamed—
🗣️ “Do you not have a mother or sister? How can you even say this?”

But the sailor was silent…
He stared coldly.

Trembling, the girl ran to the old man—
“Please guide me. What should I do?”

🧓 The old man replied quietly—
🗣️ “I cannot decide for you…
Follow your heart.”

😢 The girl was torn apart…
❝To reach her love, or to preserve her dignity?
What should she choose?❞

Finally…
👧 She chose love.
She agreed to the sailor’s condition.

The sailor repaired the boat.
They set out on their journey…
🚣‍♀️ And reached the other island—
Where 💍 her fiancé was waiting.

The girl ran into his arms—
“I’ve come back to you!”

At first, the fiancé was overjoyed.
But then,
👧 She told him the truth—

🗣️ “To reach you, I had to spend a night with the sailor.
I sacrificed my dignity to get you back.
Because I love you.”

💍 The fiancé’s face turned red with anger.
🔥 He pushed her away—

🗣️ “You are not worthy of my love!
You are impure… You betrayed me!”

💔 The girl broke down in tears.
She walked away… alone…
Along the dark seashore…

After walking nearly half a kilometer,
👬 The fiancé’s best friend came and said—

🗣️ “I know what happened.
I will stay by your side…
Until everything is okay again.
I will take care of you.”

🎭 But the story doesn’t end here…
Now comes the real question:

🔍 Who is the hero in this story? Who is the villain?

Whom do you respect, and whom do you dislike?

🧠 Discussion Questions (Group Exercise / Brainstorming):

1️⃣ Was the girl’s decision right?
2️⃣ Was the sailor evil, or just a realist taking advantage of the situation?
3️⃣ Was the fiancé’s reaction fair, or was his love conditional?
4️⃣ Was the old man right to stay neutral?
5️⃣ Was the best friend truly helping… or did he have selfish motives?
