Title: Don’t Assume God’s Ways — He Works Through People 🙏

Friends, sometimes we wait for miracles in life…
But we forget — miracles don’t always come from the sky.
Sometimes, they come disguised as people standing right in front of us.

And when we Ass-U-Me,
👉 Ass means donkey 🫏
👉 U means you
👉 Me means me 😄
Then we make a donkey out of you and me!

Today’s story from rural India will make you smile, think, and realize —
how one simple assumption can make us blind to God’s blessings.

🎬 THE STORY

Once upon a time, in a small village in India, there lived a priest
a kind, honest, and very religious man.

One day, the village was hit by a terrible flood.

The river overflowed, the houses started to sink,
and people began running to higher ground for safety.

But the priest stayed inside the temple.
He folded his hands and said,

“I have faith in God. He will save me.”

As the water level started rising,
a jeep came with rescue officers.
They called out,

“Baba ji, please come with us! The flood is getting worse!”

But the priest smiled and replied,

“No, no. God will save me. I have faith.”

Hours passed.
The water rose higher, covering the first floor.
The priest went up to the second floor of the temple.

Then a boat came.
The rescue team shouted again,

“Please, come quickly! This is your last chance!”

But the priest shook his head and said,

“I told you… God will save me. I have full faith.”

The boat left.
Soon the water covered the second floor too.
The priest climbed onto the roof.

Then, from the sky, a helicopter came.
A rope ladder was dropped, and a soldier shouted,

“Catch the rope, Baba ji! We’re here to save you!”

But the priest again said,

“No need! My God will save me. Go help others!”

And soon after…
the floodwaters rose above the temple — and the priest drowned. 💧

🎬 AFTER LIFE SCENE

When he reached heaven,
the priest was angry and confused.
He stood before God and said,

Oh Lord! I trusted you completely.
I prayed to you every day.
I had full faith that you would save me.
Then why did you let me die?

God looked at him gently and said,

“My son, you assumed that I would come down myself to save you.
But tell me — who do you think sent you the jeep, the boat, and the helicopter?”

The priest stood speechless.

“Those people were my messengers,” said God.
“I was there — in them.
I was there — in every hand that reached out to help you.
But you didn’t recognize me.
You assumed differently.”

🎯 THE LESSON — THE DANGER OF “ASSUME”

Friends, that’s the problem with us too.
We keep waiting for miracles,
expecting something big or divine to happen —
and we miss the small, real help that’s already around us.

The priest assumed that God would appear in person,
but forgot that God works through people.

👉 When we Ass-U-Me,
we make a donkey 🫏 out of you and me!

KEY TAKEAWAYS

1️⃣ Don’t assume what help looks like.
God’s answers may not come in the form you expect.

2️⃣ Learn to recognize help when it comes.
It might come as a friend, a stranger, or even a small opportunity.

3️⃣ Faith is not ignoring reality.
True faith means trusting God — and acting wisely.

4️⃣ God lives in people.
When someone extends a helping hand — that’s His way of saying, “I’m here.”

So, my dear friends —
next time you find yourself in trouble,
don’t wait for the sky to open and miracles to fall.

Look around —
because God may already be standing beside you,
in the form of a friend, a doctor, a colleague, or even a stranger.

Don’t assume how help should look —
just be humble enough to accept it.

And remember —
when you Ass-U-Me,
you might make a donkey out of you and me! 😄
