Title: Never “Assume” — You Might End Up Looking Silly!
They say… “Never Assume!”
Because when you Ass-U-Me,
you might make a donkey 🫏 out of you and me!
Sounds funny, right?
But trust me, it’s true — and today’s story proves it perfectly!
🎬 THE STORY
Once, a young executive got promoted to a higher position in his company.
It was his first day in his new office.
He looked around proudly — big desk, nice chair, nameplate on the door — everything looked perfect.
But deep inside, he was nervous.
He didn’t really believe he deserved that post.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. 👊
The young man panicked a little.
He thought, “Maybe it’s my boss or some important visitor. I should look busy!”
So, he quickly picked up the telephone receiver — which was actually dead!
The line wasn’t even connected yet! 😅
Still, he pretended to talk.
He then said,
“Yes, please come in.”
But after that he didn’t talk to that person & keep himself busy with the telephone(Landline receiver)
He started saying loudly in Phone —
“Yes, yes, no problem… I can handle that project… send me the file right now.”
He kept nodding and acting busy — just to show how important he was!
After a few moments, he smiled confidently, hung up the phone, and said,
“Yes.What can I do for you?”
The visitor, a middle-aged man, smiled politely and said —
“Sir, I’m here to repair your telephone.” 😶📞
The young executive froze.
His face turned red.
He realized his act of importance had completely failed.
He had assumed that the visitor was someone senior or important.
But in reality — he was the telephone mechanic!
🎯 MORAL OF THE STORY
And that’s how assumptions can make us look… well, silly! 😄
Because when we Ass-U-Me —
👉 “Ass” means donkey 🫏
👉 “U” means you
👉 “Me” means me
So when we assume, we make a donkey out of both you and me!
This young executive wanted to impress others —
but instead, his false assumption embarrassed him.
